The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) was a grant funded program run by the Southern Nevada Health District and University of Nevada, Las Vegas between 2006 and 2010.

The Southern Nevada Health District’s Vector Surveillance Program regularly submits mosquito pools to the Nevada Department of Agriculture to test for West Nile virus, St. Louis Encephalitis, and Western Equine Encephalitis.
On October 18, 1999 the Southern Nevada Health District , Office of Epidemiology implemented an Influenza Surveillance Program. The primary objective of the program was to monitor influenza-like illness (ILI), which is defined as a patient with fever >100°F (37.8° C) and cough or sore throat.
The Pediatric Early Warning Sentinel Surveillance (PEWSS) is a year-round surveillance system developed by the Southern Nevada Health District to identify the pathogens responsible for respiratory disease circulating in the community. Each week, several sentinel health care providers submit nasal swabs to the Southern Nevada Public Health Laboratory (SNPHL) for testing. The specimens are collected from children who present with a fever >100°F accompanied by a cough and/or sore throat.
The Southern Nevada Health District receives reports of positive influenza (flu) results from local laboratories and/or health care providers.
5.1 Severability clause: Should any section, paragraph, sentence, phrase, or provision of these Regulations be held invalid for any reason, the remainder of these Regulations shall not be affected.
4.1 Elevated Toxic Metal Levels: The health authority shall investigate, as appropriate, each report of a person having elevated levels of arsenic, lead, or mercury, as identified as a person with detectable levels of arsenic, lead, or mercury in blood, urine, or other clinically appropriate specimens upon testing by a medical laboratory, to:

After a report of a case or outbreak of an infectious disease is received, health district staff immediately takes action with the ultimate goal of protecting the health of Clark County residents and visitors.
