The Southern Nevada Health District is now posting daily summaries of COVID-19 cases by ZIP code and cities in Clark County. The maps are posted on the Health District’s website, along with daily case counts.

We have recently learned that one of our own employees has tested positive for COVID-19. This is the first confirmed case of the virus at the Southern Nevada Health District.

The Southern Nevada Health District is implementing a text and email-based notification system to assist in notifying individuals who have traveled to areas where transmission of COVID-19 is widespread, or who are contacts of a confirmed case. Some individuals may also be contacted by telephone in addition to receiving a text or e-mail notification.

Case updates will now be posted each morning on the Southern Nevada Health District’s website. For the latest case information, please go towww.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/coronavirus#cases. Updates will be posted seven days a week.

The Health District’s Information Line is now available seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at (702) 759-INFO (4636). There is currently no vaccine to protect against COVID-19 and no medications are approved to treat it. Social distancing has been shown to be effective in slowing the spread of disease. People should be staying home and following the directives put in place by Governor Steve Sisolak to limit public gatherings to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

The Southern Nevada Health District is reporting 4 additional individuals with 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) who have died in Clark County.

LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Health District received a report of a positive case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in an individual who accessed services at Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada and the Homeless Courtyard operated by the City of Las Vegas. The client is a male who reported accessing services at these facilities while he was symptomatic. The individual is currently asymptomatic and no longer considered a risk of exposure to others.

The Southern Nevada Health District is reporting two more individuals with 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have died in Clark County. The individuals include a man in his 70s with underlying medical conditions and a woman in her 50s with underlying conditions.

Effective Tuesday, March 24, 2020, all Health District immunization services will be provided at the East Las Vegas Public Health Center located at 570 N. Nellis Blvd., Ste. D-1. The Southern Nevada Health District is announcing two more patients with 2019 coronavirus disease (COVID-19) have died in Clark County. The individuals include a woman in her 70s who had underlying medical conditions and a man in his 60s with underlying medical conditions. Currently, there have been four reported deaths from COVID-19 in Clark County.

The Southern Nevada Health District is reporting 35 cases of COVID-19 in Clark County, including one person who has died. The death occurred in a male Clark County resident who was in his 60s. He had been hospitalized and had underlying medical conditions.

All investigations are ongoing, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available. Based on current information, close contacts of these individuals are being identified or have been notified and are following self-quarantine procedures. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines a close contact as someone who was within approximately 6 feet of a confirmed COVID-19 case for a prolonged period of time. Close contact can occur while caring for or living with someone. Health care workers who care for patients are also at higher risk.

The Southern Nevada Health District today announced three new presumptive positive COVID-19 cases. We’d like to reiterate and emphasize several points of information we feel are critical for the public: The risk of contracting COVID-19 in Southern Nevada remains low for the general public. There are four reported presumptive positive cases in our community, in addition to one confirmed by the CDC, in a population of roughly 2.2 million residents. There is presently no greater risk of contracting COVID-19 in Las Vegas or at The Mirage than there is at any other travel destination in the United States. Close contact is defined as being within six feet of someone who is symptomatic for a prolonged period of time. We are in the process of notifying anyone deemed to have been in close contact with any presumptive positive patients.

The patient is a woman in her 70s who is currently hospitalized and in isolation. Two adults have been identified as close contacts of this individual and are being asked to self-quarantine for 14 days. The patient is reporting in-state travel prior to developing symptoms. The Southern Nevada Health District is announcing the first presumptive positive case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in a Clark County resident. Test results are considered “presumptive positive” until the result is confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The patient is a male in his 50s who is hospitalized and currently in airborne isolation.

The Southern Nevada Health District received notice today from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that a Clark County resident has tested negative for the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV). While waiting for the test results the patient’s symptoms had resolved and had remained isolated in compliance with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidance. The adult patient arrived into the United States from Wuhan, China on January 14 and sought medical care on January 28.

The Southern Nevada Health District announced today that it received a report of a potential case of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in a Clark County resident. The patient is currently in isolation at a local hospital. The patient will be monitored and under medical supervision while testing is conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Currently, there are no confirmed cases of the 2019 Novel Coronavirus in Clark County.
