Disasters and Emergencies
A variety of natural and man-made disasters could potentially affect Clark County:
- Hazardous materials
- Power outages
- Severe heat
Clark County has a multi-jurisdictional Local Emergency Planning Committee which coordinates and facilitates emergency preparedness and public safety.
Additionally, the committee designates the appropriate lead and supporting agencies for specific incidents. The Southern Nevada Health District is the lead agency for severe-heat emergencies.
