Southern Nevada Health District Services Update

LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Health District will resume health card services at its Henderson Public Health Center, 520 E. Lake Mead Parkway at Burkholder Blvd., beginning Tuesday, Nov. 13. Health card services are available Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. For additional information, visit the health district’s website, www.SNHD.info or call (702) 759-INFO- (4636). Health card services were suspended at this location due to the closure of the main health district facility in April.

Food handlers and child care providers must complete online food safety training prior to applying for the health card. For clients without computer access, limited computer knowledge or limited English skills, the online training can be accessed by visiting one of the Las Vegas Urban League’s Nevada Public Computer Centers. Locations are listed on the Urban League’s website, www.nvpcc.org or by calling (702) 608-5245. Additional resources are available by contacting Vegas PBS (702) 799-1010 for information about its computer training lab availability. The health district’s online training is available in English and Spanish. Health card applicants who require a TB screening must bring their results to the health district before they apply for their card. A list of testing sites is available at www.SNHD.info. Hepatitis A immunizations are no longer required or most health card applicants. Hepatitis A and B immunizations are still required for body art/tattoo applicants to obtain their health card and they are available at the regular immunization clinic.

Services available at the health district’s new location, 330 S. Valley View Blvd. include environmental health and immunization services. The health district’s main location is open Monday – Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
