Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT)

Screening, Brief Intervention and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) is an evidence-based approach to identifying patients who use alcohol and other drugs at risky levels. • To address substance use and overdose, the prevention, rescue, treatment, and recovery pillars are interwoven into a complex tapestry of support, interventions and funding. This tapestry creates a healthier, compassionate community that supports individuals and their families who live, work and play within it. If one of these pillars were removed or neglected, the tapestry would fall apart, and individuals would slip through the holes left in the community response. Join us for the 2023 Southern Nevada Substance Misuse and Overdose Prevention Summit, “From Silos to Synergy: Uniting the Pillars of Community Response to Substance Use”, where we will discuss how to advance the prevention, rescue, treatment, and recovery pillars together. Working collectively, we are able to reduce substance use and end overdose for a healthier community.
