Sampling Protocols
Testing water for Legionella bacteria requires a careful approach to produce accurate results. Before taking any samples, always check the building’s water system to identify potential areas of risk and make a clear plan. Decide whether you will be collecting water samples, swab samples, or both, and be sure to use sterile bottles and sampling supplies. Test and record the water temperature and chlorine levels. Submit water and samples to an ELITE-certified laboratory for analysis.
