Notes & Explanations
- A fee must be paid when an application is submitted.
- If an application is for a permit, permit transfer, or permit modification that changes at least 10 percent of the most current approved application, the applicant must pay the applicable waste management plan review fee.
- If an application is for a permit modification that changes less than 10 percent of the most current approved application, the applicant must pay the applicable waste management modification fee. The actual fee for a permit modification will be determined by SWPR staff after the application is submitted.
- The applicable waste management modification fee must be paid when an application for a permit modification is submitted. If the actual fee is higher, the balance must be paid before the permit is released.
- If an expedited review is requested, the applicant must also pay the late submission fee, which is equal to the applicable waste management plan review or modification fee.
- For example, as of July 1, 2010:
- A recycling center’s initial fee is $1,579 for a permanent permit, permit transfer, or permit modification that changes at least 10 percent of the most current approved application.
- A recycling center’s initial fee is $158 for a permit modification that changes less than 10 percent of the most current approved application.
- In addition to the initial fee, a recycling center’s late submission fee is $1,579 for a permanent permit.
- For example, as of July 1, 2010:
- If a re-submittal is required, the applicant must pay the applicable waste management re-submittal fee before the permit is released.
- For example, as of July 1, 2010:
- A recycling center’s re-submittal fee is $789.50 for a permanent permit, permit transfer, or permit modification that changes at least 10 percent of the most current approved application.
- A recycling center’s re-submittal fee is $79 for a permit modification that changes less than 10 percent of the most current approved application.
- A maximum of one re-submittal fee is required for each application.
- For example, as of July 1, 2010:
- The applicant must pay the cost of each public notice, which is approximately $300, before the permit is released.
- If the applicant or his or her representative cancels the inspection within 24 hours of the scheduled time, or if a re-inspection is necessary, the applicant must pay the missed appointment fee or the plan review re-inspection fee, respectively, before the permit is released. As of July 1, 2010, this fee is $239.
- Once permitted, the permittee must pay the applicable waste management annual fee and will be periodically inspected by permitted disposal facility (PDF) staff.
- Class I Disposal Sites and Materials Recovery Facilities are inspected at least four times each calendar year, and other types of facility are inspected at least twice each calendar year.
- For example, as of July 1, 2010, a recycling center’s annual fee is $400 for a permanent permit and $200 (50 percent of $400) for a temporary permit.
- The waste management annual fee is not prorated.
- Any discrepancies between information contained in the most current approved application and the actual construction and operation of the facility or other violation of a permit condition may be grounds for revocation of the permit and enforcement action by PDF staff.
- It is recommended that the applicant request an electronic copy of the most current approved application for their records. The request should be directed to Carol Cottam at cottam@snhd.org or (702) 759-0661.
- As of July 1, 2002, the fee for a CD is $10.
- Revision submittals resolving special conditions of a permit require the applicant to pay a fee before the permit is released.
- As of July 1, 2010, this fee is $239. This fee is not credited towards other fees.
