COVID-19 Isolation and Recovery Site

The Southern Nevada Health District’s 29-bed COVID-19 Isolation and Recovery Site is available for clients with COVID-19 who need a safe place to isolate but who don’t require hospitalization.

The Health District’s COVID-19 Isolation and Recovery Site is part of an overall response plan to help keep hospital capacity at safe levels for the treatment of COVID-19 patients and to prevent the spread of COVID-19 within the community.

  • The facility can house up to 29 individuals, each for a period of up to 10 days.
  • Clients may include those who are experiencing homelessness, those who live in households with high-risk individuals,
    and visitors.
  • Clients may be referred from a local hospital or if they have tested positive but do not require hospitalization from a local testing site.
  • Clients must be 18 years of age or older, they must be able to perform their own ADLs (activities of daily living), must not be dependent on skilled nursing assistance or oxygen therapy, and must go through a client intake process.
  • The $3 million facility was built following approval of the Southern Nevada District Board of Health in March. The Health District has applied to FEMA for approximately 75 percent of the funding for this project.
  • Individuals will be provided with:
    • A private space with a bed and linens
    • Access to a bathroom and a shower (with towels and soap/shampoo)
    • Three meals a day, plus snacks and water
    • A shared area to relax and watch TV
    • Case management and crisis counseling services
  • Services are provided free of charge.
  • An additional facility has been assembled on the north side of the Health District with seven exam rooms designed to provide COVID-19 testing as well as medical care to sick patients.
