Home/Immunization Newborn Screening Services

Immunization Newborn Screening Services

The Southern Nevada Health District supports newborn screening efforts that help identify certain serious but treatable health conditions in infants shortly after birth. Early detection through newborn screening allows healthcare providers and families to begin treatment and follow-up care as soon as possible, helping to improve health outcomes and support healthy growth and development.

Newborn screening is a critical public health service that helps detect a variety of genetic, metabolic, endocrine, and other conditions that may not be visible at birth. The Southern Nevada Health District provides low-cost newborn screening specimen collection services to help ensure infants have access to this important screening when needed.
