Solid waste management facility types are defined in the Regulations Governing the Management of Solid Waste.

Statutory & Regulatory Authority

Nevada Revised Statutes (NRS) 444.440  through 444.620  provides the legislative authority to develop and implement a regulatory program for management of solid waste in Nevada.

NRS 439.362  establishes the Southern Nevada District Board of Health as the Solid Waste Management Authority, which has the authority to adopt regulations pursuant to these statutes.

In Clark County solid waste regulations are enforced and implemented by the Solid Waste & Compliance Section of the Environmental Health Division, Southern Nevada Health District, P.O. Box 3902, 280 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89107, (702) 759-0600.
