COVID-19 has caused disruptions in many lives and a result for many families has been missed or delayed wellness checkups and vaccinations, which are crucial in helping ensure that children stay healthy. Vaccines are among the most successful public health tools available for preventing disease and death by helping reduce the spread of infectious diseases.

District Health Officer Dr. Fermin Leguen said, “National Infant Immunization Week is an opportunity to recognize the critical role vaccination plays in preventing serious childhood diseases. We encourage families to check with their health care providers and make sure their children are up to date on routinely recommended vaccines.”
