New Year’s Eve
The Southern Nevada Health District recommends people ring in the New Year with members of their household only. Staying home and away from others is the best way to ensure people are celebrating safely and limiting their risk of getting or giving COVID-19 to others. To date, the Health District has reported 168,342 cases of COVID-19 in Clark County, and 2,336 people have died as a result of the virus.

People who are hosting New Year’s Eve parties should consider only including people who live in the same home and celebrating virtually with friends and families from outside their household. If people do host or attend gatherings with people outside their household, masks should be worn at all times and guests should maintain 6 feet of space between each other. When possible, events should be held outdoors, or in large, well-ventilated spaces, with open windows. More information on safer holiday celebrations is available on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention website at www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/daily-life-coping/holidays/winter.html.

The Southern Nevada Health District serves as the local public health authority for Clark County, Boulder City, Henderson, Las Vegas, Mesquite and North Las Vegas.
