Southern Nevada Community Health Center celebrates National Health Center Week Aug. 2-8

LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Community Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) operated by the Southern Nevada Health District, is joining health centers across the country in celebrating National Health Center Week from August 2-8. This year’s theme, “Building Innovative Care Where It Matters Most,” recognizes the critical role Federally Qualified Health Centers play in expanding access to affordable, high-quality health care and improving the health of communities nationwide.
In 2025, the Southern Nevada Community Health Center provided 46,201 patient encounters for 13,431 unduplicated patients, with more than half (58.11%) of patients uninsured. The Health Center continues to expand access to care for Southern Nevada residents through comprehensive primary care, behavioral health, pharmacy and other essential health services regardless of a person’s ability to pay.
Throughout National Health Center Week, patients visiting either Southern Nevada Community Health Center location will receive appreciation giveaways while supplies last.

During fiscal year 2026, the Southern Nevada Community Health Center continued expanding access to care across multiple service areas. Overall health center access increased 10% compared with fiscal year 2025, including a 24% increase in behavioral health services and a 15% increase in primary care. Pharmacy services also experienced significant growth, with overall pharmacy access increasing 17%.
“National Health Center Week is an opportunity to recognize both the patients we serve and the employees who make our mission possible every day,” said Randy Smith, Chief Executive Officer for the Southern Nevada Community Health Center. “As the needs of our community continue to grow, we remain committed to expanding access to high-quality, patient-centered care for everyone who walks through our doors.”
The Health District operates two Federally Qualified Health Center locations: the Southern Nevada Community Health Center, 280 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89107, and the Fremont Public Health Center, 2830 E. Fremont St., Las Vegas, NV 89104. Together, they provide primary care, behavioral health, family planning, pharmacy, telehealth, refugee health, sexual health, comprehensive HIV care through the Ryan White Program and a full complement of wraparound services that help patients access the care and support they need.
During National Health Center Week and throughout the year, the Southern Nevada Community Health Center is also offering $20 sports physicals for children and teens, helping families prepare for the upcoming school year and participate in school athletics. Appointments are encouraged, though limited walk-in appointments may be available.
Services are offered on a sliding fee scale based on family size and household income to help ensure cost is not a barrier to care. In calendar year 2025, the Southern Nevada Community Health Center’s sliding fee scale saved patients nearly $6.7 million in health care costs, helping thousands of Southern Nevadans receive the care they needed regardless of their ability to pay.
