What: Las Vegas Aces players A’ja Wilson and Carolyn Swords will visit the first Slam Dunk Health program-winning classroom to recognize students’ commitment to living healthy lifestyles with more physical activity and healthy eating habits. The Slam Dunk Health program is a collaborative effort between the Southern Nevada Health District, the Clark County School District (CCSD), and the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces.

Why: The Slam Dunk Health program is open to all CCSD first- through fifth-grade classrooms. Students earn points each day for eating fruits and vegetables and being physically active. The program encourages elementary school students to eat healthy and participate in physical activity every day. The winning classroom(s) receive a visit from players of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces as well as tickets to attend a home game.

Who: The Health District, the CCSD, and the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces launched the Slam Dunk Health Challenge in February to encourage students to make healthy lifestyle choices.
