Fresh, affordable produce returns to Bonneville Transit Center this fall
Pop-Up Produce Stands offer regionally grown fruits and vegetables, plus SNAP/EBT incentives

LAS VEGAS — Fresh, affordable produce is coming back to the Bonneville Transit Center (BTC) this fall. The Southern Nevada Health District’s Pop-Up Produce Stands will return in September, giving community members convenient access to regionally grown fruits and vegetables.
The stands will be open noon to 3 p.m., or while supplies last, at the BTC, 101 E. Bonneville Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89101, on the following dates:
- Tuesday, September 1
- Tuesday, September 8
- Tuesday, October 6
- Tuesday, October 13
- Tuesday, November 3
- Tuesday, November 10
All produce will be available for $1 per pound. Shoppers can pay with SNAP/EBT, cash, debit or credit cards. SNAP/EBT shoppers can also use Double Up Food Bucks, a nutrition incentive program that helps stretch SNAP benefits when purchasing fresh produce. Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program coupons will be accepted when available.
“Pop-Up Produce Stands make healthy food more accessible by bringing fresh produce directly to a location people already use,” said Dr. Cassius Lockett, District Health Officer for the Southern Nevada Health District. “By making nutritious food available at an affordable price in a central community location, we can help reduce barriers to healthy eating and support the health and well-being of Southern Nevadans.”
The Pop-Up Produce Stands are a partnership between the Southern Nevada Health District’s Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada and Prevail Marketplace.
More than produce will be available at the pop-up events. Shoppers can also connect with nutrition education, health information, and community resources. The Division of Social Services will attend select events to help participants learn about available benefits and other resources.
Connecting Southern Nevadans with healthy food
The Pop-Up Produce Stands help address food insecurity by bringing fresh, nutritious foods to communities where access can be limited. In 2024, an estimated 386,420 Clark County residents — 16.6% of the population — experienced food insecurity, equal to the statewide rate (16.6%) and higher than the national rate of 14.4%. Children in Clark County were particularly affected, with 114,930 children, or 22.2%, experiencing food insecurity.
Access to healthy food remains a challenge in some areas. The U.S. Department of Agriculture identified 30 Clark County census tracts as food deserts in 2019, underscoring the continuing need to make nutritious food more accessible. These barriers contribute to significant racial disparities. In 2024, food insecurity affected 31% of Black residents, compared with 13% of white residents.
The Pop-Up Produce Stands are helping address that need. In 2025, the program distributed 1,113 pounds of fresh produce, with approximately 44% of sales made using SNAP/EBT benefits. The use of SNAP/EBT demonstrates the program’s role in helping make fresh, healthy food more accessible to individuals and families who may face barriers to purchasing it.
