Health District Opens North Las Vegas Public Health Center

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
September 27, 2012

LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Health District is opening its newest public health center in North Las Vegas, Monday, Oct. 1. The center is located at 955 W. Craig Rd., Suite 103D at “H” Street and will offer a variety of services including: childhood immunizations; school and college mandated vaccinations; seasonal flu immunizations; immunization records; and a food server training kiosk for health cards. The public health center will be open Monday through Thursday, from 8 a.m. until 5:30 p.m.

“We are pleased to be re-opening a public health center in North Las Vegas,” said Dr. John Middaugh, interim chief health officer for the health district. “The center will offer much needed public health services and the location was selected for its ability to meet the needs of the community.”

“For more than two years now, North Las Vegas residents have had to go across town into Las Vegas for public health services,” North Las Vegas Councilwoman Anita Wood said. “So, I am thrilled to see the Southern Nevada Health District again bring services back to a North Las Vegas location, where residents can receive the help they need directly and conveniently.”

The North Las Vegas Public Health Center is one of seven health district service sites in Clark County and is conveniently located near two central bus lines. In addition to opening this location the health district is in the process of relocating its main campus to its future home at 330 S. Valley View Blvd. as a result of the closure of its Shadow Lane facility in April. Currently, adult and childhood immunizations are the only services available at this location.
