H1N1 Influenza

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
July 21, 2009

As of Friday, July 17, 1009, the Southern Nevada Health District reports the following information regarding novel H1N1 case counts in Clark County:

Week Ending Confirmed Deaths*
July 17 16
Total 161 3

As the summer progresses, the health district’s influenza surveillance program is receiving fewer reports of seasonal influenza infection, therefore a majority of positive influenza results continue to be novel H1N1. Three patients remained hospitalized.

*This number represents Clark County residents only. In early June, the health district reported the death of a hospitalized patient who was a resident of another state.
