Health District Teams with Telemundo for Health Fair

LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Health District will participate in the annual Feria Telemundo between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., Sunday, June 22 at the Cox Pavilion. The event is an opportunity to provide information about health services to the Hispanic community. Last year, the event attracted more than 2,000 attendees. This year, the health district will launch “La Zona Viva Saludable,” a companion to the Viva Saludable media initiative to provide outreach, information and health services to participants.

Health district staff will offer lead screenings, HIV tests, blood pressure checks as well as information about diabetes, smoking cessation, nutrition and physical activity. Community partners will also offer vouchers for free glucose, cholesterol and PSA blood testing, free on-site vision screenings, and health risk assessments.
