West Nile Virus

LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada Health District recently reported a late-season West Nile virus case. The Clark County resident is a woman older than age 50 who contracted the more serious form of the illness. The individual died from the illness.

In 2007, Nevada had a total of 12 human cases of West Nile virus, three of whom were residents of Clark County.
