Public invited to participate in preparedness drill and flu shot clinic


Discounted flu shots available at two Clark County locations during weekend drill

What

The Southern Nevada Health District is inviting the general public to participate in an emergency preparedness drill and flu shot clinic. Although some providers have depleted their vaccine supplies, the health district has ample flu vaccine available.

Participant should be 18 years of age or older, and wear short sleeve shirts or loose fitting sleeves that can be rolled up.

Flu vaccinations are covered under Medicare Part B, Medicare Railroad Part B, Medicaid, Nevada Check Up, Secure Horizons or Senior Dimensions. For all others, the flu shot will be offered at the discounted price of $16.

Why

This drill will test the health district’s capacity to quickly set up multiple mass immunization sites during an emergency situation.
