Health district and community partners invite the public to attend event on Saturday, May 21, 2005

What

A health outreach, education and disease prevention event for the general public featuring information, food, activities and the following free services:

  • Vision screening
  • HIV testing
  • Bone density testing
  • Nevada Check Up counseling and applications (a health care program for low income, uninsured children, whose families are not eligible for Medicare)
  • Mammogram appointment setting
  • Medicare counseling
  • Parenting classes
  • Breast and cervical cancer information
  • Injury prevention, safety and wellness information
   
Why

After a large turnout in its inaugural year, the second annual event seeks to further educate the community, particularly uninsured families, about health care issues and resources, along with disease prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
