Southern Nevada Health District Hosts Community Baby Shower

LAS VEGAS –The Southern Nevada Health District is inviting pregnant mothers, as well as mothers with infants, to attend a Community Baby Shower today at the East Las Vegas Community Center. The event, hosted by the Health District’s Healthy Start Program and community partners, will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., with registration beginning at 9 a.m. The community center is located at 250 N. Eastern Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89101.
This free, family-friendly event features educational booths, community resources, games and giveaways— including diapers for attending families and a chance to win a grand prize jogging stroller.
“This is a fun-filled event for new and expectant moms,” said Dr. Cassius Lockett, District Health Officer for the Health District. “It’s a great opportunity for participants to connect with community support, learn helpful parenting tips and prepare for one of life’s most important milestones.
Healthy Start is a federally funded program aimed at improving maternal and infant health in communities with the greatest needs. In Clark County, the program offers free, voluntary home visits to pregnant women and mothers with babies under 12 months old, providing education, support, and connections to local resources. Fathers are also encouraged to participate if they are connected to a mother enrolled in the program.
