2026 Public Health Hero Award Nominations
Each year, the Southern Nevada Health District recognizes individuals and/or organizations whose contributions have positively impacted the health and well-being of our community through the Public Health Hero Award. The award will be presented at the Southern Nevada Health District Board of Health meeting at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 23, at the Health District’s Main Public Health Center, 280 S. Decatur Blvd., Las Vegas, NV 89107.
If you have an organization or individual you would like to nominate as a Public Health Hero, please complete the form, following the guidelines listed below.
- People who are nominated must work outside the Southern Nevada Health District (no internal employee nominations, please).
- The nominee’s activities should help to further and support one or more of the 10 Essential Public Health Services:
- Assess and monitor population health.
- Investigate, diagnose and address health hazards and root causes.
- Communicate effectively to inform and educate.
- Strengthen, support and mobilize communities and partnerships.
- Create, champion and implement policies, plans and laws.
- Utilize legal and regulatory actions.
- Enable equitable access.
- Build a diverse and skilled
- Improve and innovate through evaluation, research and quality improvement.
- Build and maintain a strong organizational infrastructure for public health.
Include a short narrative and/or any applicable support documentation that demonstrates how your nominee’s contributions have positively affected public health in our community.
