Rapid HIV Testing/Counseling Certification Program

Training Courses Available

This is a week long course designed to provide the attendee with all of the necessary information to conduct rapid HIV testing in our community. The breakdown of the course is below. In order to receive a certificate, you must attend all classes. This certificate is required by the State Laboratory Licensing Bureau for the CLIA waver to conduct on site Rapid HIV testing.

HIV/AIDS Awareness

This course provides an overview of essential facts about HIV/AIDS, transmission, prevention, casual contact, testing procedures, state laws and regulations, medications, and services available to Clark County residents living with HIV/AIDS.

Additionally, the interactive course explores hepatitis A, B and C, and reviews the most common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Participants gain the knowledge to answer most common client questions about hepatitis and STDs.

There is a $50 fee for the course. Lunch will not be provided.

Additional HIV/STD Education

If your agency or organization would like additional HIV and/or STD education, fill out the Outreach and Educational Request Form. Requests must be made at least 30 days in advance due to the high volume of requests.
