Southern Nevada is full of trails and parks where both you and your four-legged hiking buddy can stretch your legs. From quick strolls to weekend wanderings, these dog-friendly spots serve up fresh air, scenic views and plenty of room for sniffing, exploring and bonding along the way.

Anthem Hills Park

Anthem Hills Park is a generous 53-acre community park in Henderson, equipped for both active play and relaxed dog walks. The park includes large open grass areas, a walking path and extensive amenities such as lighted sports courts, a skate and roller hockey area, playground, picnic shelters and restrooms. Leashed dogs are welcome to roam the open spaces alongside other visitors. The park is well-maintained, features easy access and ample parking, and is open from 6 a.m. to midnight.

Barkin’ Basin Park
Difficulty: Easy | 0.4 Miles
7101 N. Buffalo Drive, Las Vegas, NV 89131
This dog park at Centennial Hills Park is a fully fenced, grass-covered area where dogs can play off-leash. It features separate sections for large and small dogs, water access, benches and waste stations. (Please note: the dog park is closed for maintenance every Wednesday from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.)

Dog Fancier’s Park

Clark County Dog Fancier’s Park is a 20-acre facility designed for dogs to enjoy safe, off-leash exercise. The park features multiple fenced areas separated by size, shaded seating, water fountains, lighting for evening visits and other amenities that make it convenient for pet owners. It provides a clean and well-maintained space for dogs to play, socialize and stay active.

Exploration Peak Park

A perfect pup-friendly hike: Exploration Peak Trail is an easy-to-moderate, half-mile climb up a dirt path from a spacious, grassy base to a scenic summit. The trail features shaded rest benches, dog-waste stations, and washroom access. Despite being shaded only in spots, the trail rewards with sweeping Valley and city skyline views—especially enjoyable on clear days. Remember to keep your dog leashed and hydrated on warmer walks.

Lone Mountain Summit and Loop
Difficulty: Moderate | 3.2 Miles
Lone Mountain Park, 4445 N Jensen St, Las Vegas, NV 89129
A perfect quick-escape hike: the Lone Mountain Trail gives you options. You can amble the gentle Perimeter Loop around the base for an easy workout with scenic desert views or tackle the steeper Regular Route—a 0.7-mile climb to a rocky summit with fantastic city panoramas. More adventurous types can choose scrambling routes up the South Ridge. Whichever route you take, Lone Mountain delivers big views and a rewarding desert experience in a short amount of time.
