Waiver Request Application Process

A waiver is a written agreement between Southern Nevada Health District and the permit holder that authorizes a modification of a regulatory requirement. A waiver may be granted by modifying or waiving the requirements of the Regulations Governing the Sanitation of Food Establishments if public health and safety will not be impacted as a result of the approved waiver.

The waiver application must be filled out completely with supporting documentation provided. Failure to provide supporting documentation to describe how the food safety risks will be controlled will result in denial, delays, and/or additional fees. 

  1. Submit a completed waiver application with supporting documents to FoodRev@snhd.org for processing.
  2. Supporting documents may include:
    1. Standard Operating Procedures
    2. Equipment Specifications
    3. Plans
    4. Logs and Signs
    5. Approvals from other agencies
    6. Service contracts
  3. The applicant will receive an invoice for $118 via email. Once paid, the waiver is reviewed by a supervisor.
  4. After review, an approval letter will be emailed to the applicant if the applicant demonstrated that the food safety risks were mitigated to an acceptable level.

Note:  Waivers are not transferrable from one permit holder to another.
