Certifications and Registration

Any visits to the Southern Nevada Health District office are by appointment only. At this time, anyone entering SNHD facilities must wear a face covering.

All in-office meetings will be limited to one member of the public. All fees are due at the time of invoicing. Please call the appropriate program clerk prior to any visit. No cash is accepted at the City of Las Vegas Development Services Center. Checks and money orders must be in the exact amount due. Credit card payments are accepted online.

We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for the continued support!

Qualified operators are required to have completed a national Qualified Pool Operator certification course. Qualified Pool Operator training courses must meet criteria outlined in the most current Model Aquatic Health Code (MAHC) published by the CDC. Training courses can be found by searching the internet or through your employer. SNHD does not provide qualified operator training.

Qualified operators must register with SNHD once a certification is obtained prior to working at any aquatic facility or with any pool company. Operator registration will expire in conjunction with the national certification expiration and must be renewed prior to expiration.

Existing operators currently registered with SNHD who do not have a national certification will have three (3) years, until July 1, 2022, to complete a nationally recognized certification course.
