After receiving the injection, you must remain in the clinic 30 minutes for observation.

  • Do not have sexual contact with another person with or without a condom for 7 days after your last injection. This gives your body time to heal and also prevents the spread of the disease
  • During your treatment, you may have some side effects such as fever, chills, body aches, nausea, vomiting, swelling of the lymph nodes, mild skin rash, or flushing sensations, although this is uncommon. These symptoms usually begin within 4 hours after the injection and may last up to 8 hours.They usually disappear within 24 hours.
  • If you experience discomfort at the injection site, you may use a wrapped ice pack at the site of the injection. You may use an over-the-counter pain reliever such as ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Tylenol, non-aspirin pain reliever as directed on the packaging.

**If you are pregnant, you must check with your doctor before taking any medication.**

The following symptoms are severe and you should immediately seek medical treatment from a hospital emergency room or call 911.

  • Severe skin rash, hives, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing, swelling of the face, throat, tongue, lips, eyes, hands, feet, ankles or lower legs, hoarseness, yellowing of the skin or eyes, rapid heartbeat or pounding heartbeat, or irregular heartbeat.

**Do not drink alcohol during your treatment and for 7 days after treatment completion.**
