Sexual Health Education
The Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program offers evidenced based sexual health education for teens, parents, guardians, and mentors.
Be Proud! Be Responsible!
Be Proud! Be Responsible! is a six hour intervention (delivered in six fifty-minute modules), designed to modify behaviors and build knowledge, understanding, and a sense of responsibility regarding STD/HIV risk in vulnerable youth. The intervention aims to affect knowledge, beliefs, and intentions related to condom use and sexual behaviors such as delaying initiation and reducing frequency of intercourse.
Sexual Health and Adolescent Risk Prevention (SHARP)
SHARP is an interactive single-session STI/HIV prevention intervention. The program’s overall goals are to deepen STI/HIV knowledge, improve correct condom use, reduce sexual risks and alcohol use, and set long-term goals to utilize knowledge and skills learned during the session. The session is about four hours long and organized by gender.
Families Talking Together
Families Talking Together is a parent-based intervention to prevent and/or reduce sexual risk behavior among Latino and African American adolescents. The main component of the intervention is a written program manual distributed to parents, that is designed to promote effective communication skills, build parent-adolescent relationships, help parents develop successful monitoring strategies, and teach adolescents assertiveness and refusal skills. The program can be delivered to parents either individually or in small group sessions, in a range of settings.
