In recognition of National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week (May 14-20, 2006), the Southern Nevada Health District is honoring exceptional local emergency medical service personnel. Awardees will be recognized for their demonstration of excellent patient care, clinical skills, exemplary professionalism and for their exceptional contributions and commitment to the success and advancement of emergency medical services. |

Who

Nominations were submitted from each of the nine licensed EMS agencies. Nominees must be currently certified as an: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) – Basic; EMT – Intermediate; EMT- Paramedic; EMT – Registered Nurse; or Emergency Medical Dispatcher. |

| Why |
|
The American College of Emergency Physicians developed EMS week in 1973 to bring together local communities and medical personnel to publicize safety and honor the dedication of those who provide the day-to-day lifesaving services of the medical “front line.” |
