HIV testing now offered on Saturday

The Southern Nevada Health District’s Sexual Health Clinic has partnered with the Gay and Lesbian Center of Southern Nevada to begin offering free HIV/STD testing on the first Saturday of each month, beginning May 3. The monthly walk-in clinic offers testing from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Center, located at 401 S. Maryland Pkwy. For more information, call (702) 733-9800.

Block party event for teens

Teens are invited to "Teen City Affair," a live music and block party on May 9 from 3-7 p.m. at Freedom Park. They’ll enjoy local bands, games, food and raffle prizes. The event is sponsored by Use Condom Sense, Teen Advocates for Pregnancy Prevention and the Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program. Public Health Heroes

Congratulations to this year’s Public Health Heroes! Green Our Planet, CVS Caremark and the Teen Advocates Pregnancy Prevention Council received recognition for their contribution to positively affect the health and well being of the community. Wanted: Volunteers

The Southern Nevada Health District wants to grow its volunteer program! We’re looking for a few good men and women who are at least 18 years old with the flexibility to work 20 hours a month (in four-hour shifts) and the ability to stand long periods of time, if needed.
