New TB clinic location, remodeled facility

Good news . . . the Southern Nevada Health District's Tuberculosis Treatment and Control Clinic has relocated to its new location at 625 Shadow Lane. The new clinic is 2,100 square feet and will serve its clients in a more central location. An open house is scheduled for March 24 – World TB Day. The event will feature information about TB in Clark County and 'narratives' from TB patients under the health district's care. Clinic staff encourages everyone to learn about real-world challenges facing public health and TB.

Spanish wellness website launched

The Southern Nevada Health District' recently launched its Spanish-language website, Viva Saludable, which is a companion to its Get Healthy Clark County site. With tips about diet and exercise, free nutritional challenges, access to videos, health risk assessment tools, and information about how to quit smoking and maintain a healthier life, Viva Saludable provides information to the valley's Hispanic community. The website is www.VivaSaludable.org.

Online resource library offered

A new Handouts section has been added to the Food Establishment Resource Library. The handouts are designed to help establishments comply with regulations. Other information found in the library include frequently asked questions, food service logs and waiver requests. Visit the Handouts webpage for more information.
