Health District to participate in ‘Choose and Move’ event, Sept. 12
LAS VEGAS – The Southern Nevada health District is participating in the 5th annual Choose and Move festival between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 12 at the Doolittle Community Center, 1950 North “J” Street in Las Vegas. The event, presented by Community Partners for Better Health, will offer health screenings and information, a healthy cooking demonstration, a youth basketball clinic, a rock climbing wall, dance instructions, and a police versus firefighter exhibition basketball game. This year, the police versus firefighter basketball game will be renamed the “Officer James Manor Memorial Game” in honor of the Metropolitan Police Department officer who died earlier this year. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, visit the Get Healthy Clark County website, www.GetHealthyClarkCounty.org

“This is an opportunity to reach out to members of our community. Choose and Move will offer information about the importance of engaging in some type of physical activity and learn healthy eating habits. These are all ways to encourage healthier lifestyles for adults and children,” said Celeste Folmar, Community Partners for Better Health chair.
