Currently in Southern Nevada, there has been a steady reemergence of syphilis along with HIV cases which are increasingly diagnosed in the public and private sectors.
With this increase in syphilis in the general population, the following individuals/groups have been identified as having a higher incidence of risk and include: pregnant women, men who have sex with men (MSM), and African American females. Among these populations is where the majority of primary and secondary cases have been identified and poses much concern to us.
