HIV antibody testing is a simple oral or blood test performed by a trained professional. This procedure is strictly confidential.
Counseling regarding the meaning of the test and its result take place before the actual testing to ensure you understand HIV infection and the testing procedure.
The Southern Nevada Health District offers the following HIV Testing:
OraSure HIV-1 - Oral fluid (not saliva) from the mouth is quickly collected without using needles and is tested for HIV antibodies. This test is free. The health district charges an administrative fee of $10 per test. The health district does not deny services to clients who cannot pay the fee.
Blood Test - Blood drawn from a vein is tested for HIV antibodies. This test is free. The health district charges an administrative fee of $10 per test. The health district does not deny services to clients who cannot pay the fee.
OraQuick Advanced Rapid HIV Antibody Test - Oral fluid from the mouth is collected and tested for HIV antibodies. Same day results are available with this test. This test is $25.00. The health district charges an administrative fee of $10 per test. The health district does not deny services to clients who cannot pay the fee.

Trinity/Unigold Rapid HIV Test - A simple finger stick for blood is collected and tested for HIV antibodies. Same day results are available with this test. This test is $25.00. The health district charges an administrative fee of $10 per test. The health district does not deny services to clients who cannot pay the fee.

Clearview Complete Rapid HIV Test - A simple finger stick for blood is collected and tested for HIV antibodies. Same day results are available with this test. This test is $25.00. The health district charges an administrative fee of $10 per test. The health district does not deny services to clients who cannot pay the fee.

All tests look for the presence of HIV antibodies.
OraSure test results are available in 10 business days. Blood draw test results are available within 7 days. The OraQuick, Trinity/Unigold and Clearview tests offers same day results. All positive HIV test results must be confirmed with a follow-up test before a final diagnosis of infection can be made.
