Tuberculosis screening is required to receive all types of health cards except the food handler health card. The cost of a TB skin test is included in the price of a health card.

If you have a history of a positive TB test, bring the appropriate documentation. TB skin test results are valid for 6 weeks; x-ray results are valid for 2 months.

For clients who require †TB testing for school or work but do not need a health card the cost is as follows.

• X-ray only - $80*
• TB Skin Test Only - One Step - $30*
• TB Skin Test Only - Two Step - $50*

†TB skin tests and x-rays are not offered for diagnostic reasons (e.g. ordered by a doctor, “self screening,” or starting new medications). Clients who need diagnostic screening should contact their doctor.

Note: TB skin tests are not available when they cannot be read in 48 to 72 hours.

Parental Consent of Immunization

Non-custodial adults may accompany a child, however, written consent must be provided to the health district from the parent or guardian at the time of service. See the Parental Consent for Immunization of a Minor Policy for more details.
