The Health District offers vaccines for people traveling outside the United States. As with most immunizations, travel vaccines often require several weeks to provide complete protection. It is recommended that travel vaccines are administered as soon as possible.
Travel Advisory
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Travelers’ Health website provides information about recommended and required vaccines, unique recommendations, precautions, or other general public health or safety concerns during your travels.
Services Available
The following services are available for travelers to foreign or territorial destinations outside the United States:
- All recommended adult vaccines:
- Hepatitis A and B
- Human Papilloma Virus vaccine
- Influenza
- Meningococcal
- MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella)
- Pneumococcal
- Polio
- Shingles
- Tetanus diptheria
- Tdap
- Varicella (Chickenpox)
- Vaccines requested for traveling:
- Rabies
- Typhoid (injection only)
- Yellow fever
Services Not Available
We do not offer the following services for travelers:
- Blood work to determine immunity against diseases.
- Consultation with a licensed physician.
- Malaria prophylaxis and prescription.
- Oral Typhoid vaccine.
- Prescriptions for medication you may need while traveling.
- Yellow fever exemption letters for travelers who cannot receive the yellow fever vaccine.
